KidSport Uganda is a registered nonprofit Community Based Organization (CBO) that creates sports opportunities for children of between 6 and 16 years old from disadvantaged backgrounds in Kibale Town Council through donations of sports equipment, apparel and footwear.
It was founded in 2018 as a grassroots voluntary sports organization and registered as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in February 2020 under The NonGovernmental Organization Act, 2016, by Pallisa District Local Government. KidSport Uganda is run entirely by volunteers who provide the leadership and support necessary to achieve our mission.
It was started by a group/team of five like-minded individuals who were inspired by the poor conditions under which these children were playing football including using balls made of tattered plastic bags and grass; wearing tattered shirts and shorts; playing barefooted, using makeshift playing spaces and not following any rules during play.
Our mission is ‘to create opportunities for children of between 6 and16 years from disadvantaged communities of Kibale Town Council to play and participate in sports on a regular basis’.
Our work is underpinned by the following values.
We support one another and work together to achieve our mission. We value and recognize the contribution of each and everyone to achieving our mission
We are cognizant of the rules that govern what we do and we adhere and abide by them.
We treat all people with dignity and value the contribution of each and everyone to our work.
We welcome and work with everyone regardless of race, gender, age, creed or nationality, colour, political affiliation and religious affiliation.
We give our best effort in whatever we do and embrace challenges. We celebrate those who do well and use their success to inspire others.
